Liberté de Pensée et de Discours (Liberty of Thought and Discourse) was my 3rd year major work using the current hegemonic form of the Art Gallery of NSW as an architectural base to transform the functionality of the "library" in modern society.
CONCEPT:
"The library in its current hegemonic form has lost its function as a source of knowledge for new understandings; limited to individual research and production, with librarians acting as the police of these oppressive interiors. The current library is a place for individuals, not the collective."
How can we transform the importance of the library and reinstate it into the civics of the city? How can we introduce new actions that will inherently rival the usefulness of the internet?
